Our Vision and Plan: YOU Fit Neurodivergent Studio
In my eyes, all the pieces fit.
LJ Friedrich Consultants (LJFC) has grown since its inception nearly two years ago in the summer of 2015. I began the firm with the desire to Tutor university students with special needs, Consult with families of special needs students as they transition into higher education, and continue to Research with autistic adults. While meeting all of those goals, new needs arose:
Life Coaching – One on one time spent together, modeling, and constant availability is often essential for true growth. I am approached often by adults with special needs and their parent(s) to engage in a more personal mentorship role that include basic life skills. LJFC currently offers this service.
Family Consulting – Group facilitated family gatherings are both fun and necessary. Communication and safe support is so important at home for adults with special needs. As a parent of an autistic adult son, I have lived and feel the growth within a family as we all spend time together guided by research based communication therapies. LJFC currently offers this service.
Healthy Eating Training – Physical health and nutrition are key elements of quality of life for all people. My clients with special needs currently benefit from food discussion and cooking sessions to discover and independently make foods that they can both enjoy and benefit from. LJFC currently offers this service.
Safe Space Provision – Adults need a place outside the home that is completely safe, supervised by trained personnel, designed for learning, and welcoming. As a PhD in the education of adults (specifically autistic adults) I am able to develop such a safe place and have been successful in facilitating both learning and social growth in special needs adults. LJFC currently offers this service.
With these new services comes a new need: an appropriate Facility.
Six (6) months ago, I began to design plans for the “perfect” LJFC center. New construction is expensive, but the Value to the community is priceless. So, I continued to press forward intending to fund raise the high costs. However …
A “more than perfect” piece of Property has been brought to LJFC. This opportunity will bring meaning to adults with special needs, the community, and the artist that began the vision. Let me give you a sneak peak:

is already ramp accessible for those in wheelchairs.
is fundamentally sound and solid, beautifully restored.
is open concept offering flexibility in therapy areas.

Supporting Partner: Your gift of $1,000 + assures us of your support of our mission. You will be featured on our Supporting Partners wall, receive quarterly reports and personal invitations to our events, and develop a special connection with one of our clients through letters/photos.
Building Partner: Your gift of $5,000 + brings you into the facility project! You will have an engraved wood plaque in the entrance to the YOU Fit Center, receive quarterly reports and personal invitations to our events, and also receive a signed print from one of our client artists.
Angel Partner: Your gift of $10,000 + aligns you with us as an angel partner. You will be a part of our Opening Ceremonies at the YOU Fit Center, have an engraved wood plaque in the entrance, receive quarterly reports and personal invitations to our events, and receive a signed framed original painting from one of our client artists.

Chloe drew a new image for the YOU Fit Center!
Hello, I’m Chloe Sybert. I wanted to design something with a tree because
(1) I picture YOU Fit as an inclusive and accepting club of sorts. I had club meetings in a tree when I was little.
(2) trees are strong and have roots. Relationships formed at YOU Fit will hopefully improve lives and help each other like roots.
(3) Apparently there are lots of trees there, so this seemed fitting.
(4) People carve special names into trees so I wrote the organization name as a carving because hopefully this will be a special place for people. This will be a place where they fit!
I wanted an artsy looking sky and painted the tree in my own style. I hope you enjoy it. :)
