Allow me to introduce the beautiful artist, Chloe, who drew the compelling eye image I use now as the representation of my thoughts. She delivered it to me with these words, "If I see another puzzle piece symbol with the phrase until all the pieces fit, I am going to scream! All the pieces do fit. Autism is beautiful. There is nothing missing, we lack nothing." The struggles of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are sometimes abundant, and autistic individuals are even more amazing than you imagine!
The research at LJ Friedrich Consultants, LLC begins with people who live with ASD. If we want to understand those on the spectrum, we must simply listen to them. I listened to Chloe and accepted her design as my own. Through the process of listening to many autistic adults about their thoughts on who they are and what they stand for, our design and mission statement evolved as shown next to Chloe's picture below. Every whole person is a puzzle of many different pieces. Life is a beautiful journey of understanding how our own pieces fit together and blend with our community. In my eyes, all the pieces fit. There is beauty in diversity of all shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities.
All of the materials offered, blogs posted, services rendered, and links suggested present a view of autism in my eyes. My hope is that your view of autism will enlarge your heart.
My best,
Lisa J. Friedrich, Ph.D.
Isn't she absolutely lovely in talent, thought, and smile? Thank you, Chloe.
